I Love You … iPad

These days I feel so alone at work. No one to have lunch with, or talk to. So today I decided to have lunch at the work cafeteria with my new best friend … my iPad.

God, this device is making me read so much more than I used to! It’s got this mesmerizing effect that makes you want to read more and more.

I can’t believe that I’m almost done with Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. This novel is like 800 pages yet I’m reading it so smoothly on my iPad wether on a desk, a couch, or lying in my bed. Not to mention the magazines I’m getting as soon as they hit the stands. Plus all the amazing apps for almost anything that you can think of. Top that all with internet browsing.

The iPad has successfully become my inseparable companion. It’s got some magic spill on me I swear!

You have to believe Apple when they say: it is a Magical Device!

They Call Me “Dotooree”!

This is so hilarious I can’t stop watching it!

Iranican “a non-profit organization which goal is to explore issues effecting Iranian-American Generation” has teamed up with stand up comedian Maz Jobrani and created a multi-part PSA (Public Service Announcement) for Census 2010.

They aim to encourage Iranians living in the USA to particiate in the census and declare their nationality/race as Iranian or Iranian American. Iranican believes that this will push for Iranians living in the states to be considered a “minority”, which will entitle them for several privileges and benefits.

The above clip is the first one to be created back in March 2010, explaining in a hilarious exaggerated way the current situation that needs to be changed.

NDS 100 Classic Books

Even Nintendo DS wants to be an ebook reader now.

Double Click The Home Button!

I don’t know if I’m the only one who was completely clueless on how to multitask with the new iPhone OS 4.0!

I spent quite a long time thinking that the update did not go properly or something is wrong with my iPhone 3Gs, just to find out that I have to DOUBLE click the home button to multitask!

So for everyone who had their doubts like me ( I hope there are at least SOME of you, otherwise this will not be good for my ego!), the update is working fine.

PDair iPad Leather Case

One of my missions when I travelled to Dubai last week was to find a good leather practical case for my iPad as I did not find any in Kuwait.

The PDair leather case is exactly what I was looking for. It’s a book-case-like-file that holds your iPad perfectly in place. It has magnetic closures and can stand horizontally or vertically for hands free viewing.

I found it in one of the booths that stand between shops in The Mall of Emirates.

Funny story. I asked for the price and the seller said it’s AED 320. I started bargaining the price as I thought it was very expensive. The seller kept convincing me that the brand itself is expensive, but I did not care. I managed to bring down the price to AED 270.

I got it reluctantly, as I thought it was still expensive, reasoning with the fact that I did not find anything else that was even close to its design.

When I checked the price on PDair official website, it was $79.

$79 = approx. KD 23

AED 270 = approx. KD 21

It turned out the seller was right. It Is an expensive brand and I managed to get it below retail price!

Very proud of myself! :D

To find the booth, enter The Mall of Emirates from Kempinski Hotel. It’s probably the 2nd of third booth. It sells phone accessories.

Off to Dubai

I’m leaving to Dubai this afternoon with a group of friends.

We will be staying in The Palace – The Old Town Hotel. A couple of my friends have stayed there before and they just loved it. As we made our reservations end of last March, we managed to get really good early bird prices. We booked the Diplomatic Suite (pictured above) for around KD 120 per night.

The hotel also offers free wireless internet in our suite. So there is an excuse to take my iPad with me ;)

I will be back mid next week.

Until then, Adios Amigos!
