Shape Builder for iPhone

My two and a half year old angel is head over heels in love with this puzzle game. I can not get a peaceful moment with my iPhone without him jumping all over me, begging in his own cute language to play it for him!

Shape Builder is for pre-schoolers. You basically need to match the coloured pieces in their right place so you get a picture with a very clear voice over of what it is.

The game is very educational and offers 200+ puzzle pictures of animals, fruits, musical instruments, letters, numbers and many other things for the kid to learn what they are and how to pronounce them. My baby has learned a lot from the puzzles. There are even some pictures that he recognizes immediately before the pieces are put together :)

Highly recommended and so worth the 0.99 cents your pay for it.

I Want to Setup a VPN

As many of you may know, ABC network provides streaming of all the latest episodes of their TV shows directly from their website. Sadly, this is only available for people living in the United States. More precisely, having a US IP address.

I just came to know that I can do the same from Kuwait if I managed to setup a VPN.

Ok.

The only thing I know about VPN is that it stands for Virtual Private Network. That’s it!

All of these questions are going in my head right now:

  • How to set it up?
  • Which company to go to?
  • Which package to choose?
  • Are there any draw backs?

I really want to do this and have no clue where to start.

I’m a Mac user.

I would appreciate any of you sharing his/her experience or knowledge. I want this so bad!

Lost, I Will Miss You Forever…

The last 10 minutes that crushed us in the Finale.

I can not bring myself to watch it again :( Not yet at least.

Taking Next Monday Off

The Finale will air tomorrow, 23rd May, in the States.

My friend and I are taking the day off work to watch it on my big screen TV Monday morning. Sorry we can’t wait until the afternoon!

We have our tissue boxes ready to cry our eyes out.

We promised not to mock each other if the following happened:

  • Crying with funny sounds
  • Runny noses
  • Hugging the pillow for one hour after the episode ends
  • Banging head against the floor … Ok one will allow intervention if there is a possibility of going to work on Tuesday with a bumpy head!
  • Hugging the pillow for another hour after done hugging it for one hour

It’s the end of an Era!

Free Ladies Parking at Marina Mall

I spotted this Ad in City Pages magazine.

I wonder how this is being controlled. but me likey for sure!

Yeah Right!

These days I seem to be getting more and more Telemarketing calls about special discount cards and stuff that I really don’t want to be bothered with.

I recently read an article in iPhone Life Magazine – February 2010 issue, about some iphone tips & tricks that not many people seem to know about.

One trick they called “Annoying Caller Alert”.

I’m not sure if this is specific to the iPhone only, but fact is the iPhone can save as much as 9 numbers under one single contact. So the trick is to create a contact that you call “Blocked” or “Do Not Answer” and save the number of any annoying telemarketing call you get and you never want to answer again.

Following the tip, I created a contact called “Yeah Right” and began saving the numbers of telemarketing companies that call me.

Now whenever this number calls, I will be like:

Yeah Right! As if I’m going to answer that!

IKEA Pillows

I was shopping for pillows at IKEA and noticed how they categorize them.

I simply loved the concept. It makes it much easier for you to pick one.

I picked the pillow for side sleepers. It’s comfortable. but I wish it was a bit bigger in size.

A Good Read

I have read this novel more 2 years ago and I still remember how it captured everything in me. Reading it was pure pleasure. I miss that feeling so much.

Reading for me is solely dependent on my state of mind. I have to be mentally ready to indulge in a good book. I must admit that I’m not a very resourceful person. I don’t spend time hunting for good reads. My dear friend is a book worm and she enjoyed The Kite Runner as much as I did:

Dear, you are asking for too much. It’s not easy to find a book like The Kite Runner! It does not happen all the time you know!

That’s what she keeps saying. *love you sweety*

But I’m still in search for that book!

Share your thoughts on what was a good read to you.

My Thai Massage

During our stay in Sahara, we were offered two vouchers for a free massage at Sahara spa. So I booked myself a Thai massage.

This was my first time experiencing Thai massage.

When I arrived, they gave me white silky cotton blouse and trousers to wear. When I entered the massage room I saw a big white mattress on the floor with 1 pillow and a flower next to it. I was like:

Oh dear god this does not look good!

The masseuse asked me if I want heavey, medium, or light pressure. I requested medium.

And within a minute I requested the light pressure!

I think I should have learned this by now from my previous Spa Time experience.

So what does a Thai massage look/feel like?

All I knew is that there was a Cirque De Soliel being played on my back!

There are no oils used. The smoothness of the massage is taken from the fabric being worn. It involves a lot of intense massage/pressure and stretching of the body muscles. Mostly the Back, shoulders, and arms. I’ve been having a permanent pain in my right shoulder, I guess from sleeping in the wrong position. The masseuse did a very good job focusing on this muscle in particular. It did feel a lot better when I left.

It is extremely comfortable having the massage done on a big mattress, and on the floor, which is always the case with Thai Massage.

I have no previous experience in this type of massage in another Spa in Kuwait, but I definitely left feeling better with much flexed muscles.

I would recommend the Thai massage if you require a lot of stretching and deep pressure for tired or painful muscles. It does a better job than the regular swedish massage. I would opt for a swedish massage if I want to be relaxed in general.
