STARBUCKS Nuzha

I was driving in Nuzha and stopped my car to take a shot of this Starbucks branch that finally seems to be coming to a complete finish. This branch have been up for months now with no progress and we always wondered when it will be completed and open for public.

If you take a closer look at the place now, the only thing missing would be the food and coffee. Everything else is up, even the tea bag boxes are stacked on top of each other in a pyramid shape, ready to be sold.

I expect the branch to open in very few days.

I L L A M A S Q U A Make Up Line

If you are a frequent shopper at London Selfridges, you would know ILLAMASQUA.

ILLAMASQUA is a British make up line that was launched exclusively to UK Selfridges around 2 years ago. I’m in love with their products, Specially their lipsticks and powder blushers. ILLAMASQUA lipsticks have a very matte, rich, creamy texture that will last hours after hours. My friend just came back from london and brought me their signature red lipstick “Box”. They told her that now they are available in only three places around the world:

UK, USA (SEPHORA only) , and …….

Dubai Bloomingdales!

I was shocked and over the moon to know this! Now I can restock whenever I want :)

I can’t recall the names of the powder blushers I have as I’m not at home right now! But as for the lipsticks, I own 5 colors:

Planning to get more when I go to Dubai in June.

I am very pleased with this product line and highly recommend it.

Hana’s Birthday Cake

As my friend is just like the rest of our gang, madly in love with London, I decided to get her a London Themed cake for her birthday. I called Crumbs and spoke to lovely Arwa Al Turkait for the arrangement, and this is the result :)

12 Cup Cakes with four different flavours of Toffee, Red Velvet, Chocolate, and Vanilla. I requested that the 8 themed cup cakes carry the following (from top left corner):

  • London black taxi cab
  • London underground sign
  • Selfridges shopping bag
  • UK flag
  • Harrods shopping bag
  • Umbrella with rain (there was some clear glaze drops all over the cake)
  • London red bus
  • Big Ben

We just loved it! When I took it over to my friend’s house she was so impressed that she did not allow any of us to touch it for like half an hour!

This is not for us to eat! You can just look at it and take pictures!

She kept saying …

We were laughing so hard as she really had trouble eating the cup cakes and messing up the design! We ended up sharing four cup cakes to try all the flavours. The only two london themed ones we tried were the Umbrella and Selfridges shopping bag, of course after removing the little art pieces and placing them on other cup cakes! My favourite were the red velvet and vanilla.

It was a blast. Crumbs did a wonderful job.

You may contact Crumbs on 2263-6614. More contact information are available on Crumbs official website here

You may also visit Crumbs Facebook Page here. They have wonderful pictures of their work.

Happy Birthday Hana …

Today is my dear friend’s birthday.

Hon, this one is for you :*

I Heart Pumpkin Cake

I can never get enough of this delicious, mouth watering, scrumptious pumpkin cake. Each time I eat it, I’m in heaven. My favourite is from Caramel. But I got this one from Coffee Republic in Galleria 2000. It tasted exactly like the one from Caramel. I wan wondering if CR actually got it from there.

Caramel is located in Bnaid Al Gar, next to Soy Sauce restaurant and Al Manar apartment Building, Tel. 2246-7679

Hang Out Lounge

My friend and I decided to have a quick lunch break from work in a near by coffee shop. I suggested that we hit Galleria 2000 as it has a quite atmosphere and has some places that I feel are “undiscovered”.

Finding Hang Out Lounge was a complete coincidence. The place was different from other coffee palces that we go to here in Kuwait. It felt very cozy and the interior design had a very personal touch to it. It seemed to me like if the owner wanted the place to look exactly like what it is now.

One wall was completely covered with all different types of coffee table books for you to browse through while enjoying your drink or meal. Another section had a chess table surrounded by low stools for the players. TV screens could be viewed from any angle in the place. There was also a semi private area for people who want to be away from the crowd. There was a lady sitting there with her laptop.

We played with this version of the X O game. There was a group next to us playing cards.

I don’t know how to really describe the atmosphere. It was the opposite of pretentious. I just did not feel like I was in Kuwait. You feel very free sitting there.

Hang Out Lounge is located on the Mezzanine floor in Galeria 2000.

ShoeDazzle

I’ve known about ShoeDazzle ever since it launched a year ago and fell in love with the concept instantly, but unlucky me I don’t live in the States.

ShoeDazzle is an Online Shoe Society website created and owned by the famous Kim Kardashian.  Its concept evolves around having your own personal shoes stylist.

You fill in a one time survey to find out the shoes styles that you like. After you register, the website stylists introduce to you 5 pairs of shoes every month to buy a pair from for the flat rate amount of $39.95. You have the option to buy more that one pair each month, or to skip months that you don’t want to buy any shoes in.

The collection of shoes available are unique, stylish, and to die for.

ShoeDazzle is available for the US only and I don’t know if it works with Aramex or DHL.

More information and pictures are available on the website.
