Shape Builder for iPhone

My two and a half year old angel is head over heels in love with this puzzle game. I can not get a peaceful moment with my iPhone without him jumping all over me, begging in his own cute language to play it for him!

Shape Builder is for pre-schoolers. You basically need to match the coloured pieces in their right place so you get a picture with a very clear voice over of what it is.

The game is very educational and offers 200+ puzzle pictures of animals, fruits, musical instruments, letters, numbers and many other things for the kid to learn what they are and how to pronounce them. My baby has learned a lot from the puzzles. There are even some pictures that he recognizes immediately before the pieces are put together :)

Highly recommended and so worth the 0.99 cents your pay for it.

“The Office” Fans. “Monopoly” Fans. Lock in Your Votes!

It seems that Hasbro has agreed with NBC to design “The Office Collectors’ Edition” Monopoly board game, which will be released in August 2010. They are giving everyone the chance to vote for their favourite office token. The highest voted 6 tokens will be the collectibles once the game is released. You may vote as much as you want. Link

Amazing Minds at Fantasy World

Last Saturday, I paid my first visit to the new Fantasy World store at the Avenues. I immediately got caught up in this mind teaser game. It’s a big version of “Cover your Tracks”, displayed for customers to try out the game. Your objective is to cover the tracks (yellow box in corner) in anyway possible with the pieces available, whether you use 1 or all of them.

I like the way the games are being promoted in the store. It reminds me of the Launchpad Gallery at the Science Museum in London, UK.

“Cover Your Tracks” is available off the shelf for KD6.950, with 20 challenges included.

You will find a whole section (Amazing Minds) dedicated to all kinds of mind teaser games to exercise your brain cells.

Fantasy World at the avenues is an amazing place to be in, for adults as much as for kids. Starting from the variety of sections available, to the music that is being played. It makes you feel like you are in Disney Land of some sort. Trust me you don’t want to get out!

Make your first visit as soon as possible.

Wii Bowling Ball

After the Wii Sports Pack and the Wii Wheel, comes the Wii Bowling Ball. The ball weighs around 1.5 pounds, has the usual 3 holes for your fingers, and is designed to give you more of a realistic feel of the bowling game on Wii. I was reading the reviews on the product in amazon, and one downside noted was that it is not designed for left handed people. So if you are a lefty, think twice. The ball is available on amazon for $18.24.

Mad Gab

It’s a rainy day? You and your friends are bored to death? Prepare for a roller coaster of laughter with MAD GAB :)

MAD GAB is a game that will have everyone playing speak a strange funny language. It’s based on a set of puzzles that consist of phrases with meaningless words. When the phrases are read quickly, they will sound like a meaningful sentence.

Example:

“Yore Luke Ink Hood”

Read it several times. Try to read it fast fast fast! did it sound familiar?

Does it sound like “You’re looking Good”? ;)

The game is to be played with two teams. I played MAD GAB with my family and we had players of 8 year olds and players of 42 year olds and we were all bursting out of laughter.

Most likely you will not find MAD GAB in Kuwait. I got mine from amazon. Here is the link
